June 20-21, 2016 – International scientific conference timed to 85-year anniversary of academician B.V. Ananich “Russia and the world at the end of the 19th–first half of the 20th century”. Saint-Petersburg Institute of History of the RAS, Institute of Russian history of the RAS, Scientific Council of the RAS on Problems of Russian and World Economic History, Joint Scientific Council on Social Science and the Humanities of the Saint Petersburg Scientific Centre of the RAS are the organizers of this conference.

March 4, 2016 – All-Russian scientific conference “Yaroslav the Wise and his era”. It is organized by the Government of Novgorod region, Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University, Novgorod of the Russian Orthodox Church, Saint-Petersburg Institute of History of the RAS, Novgorod State Joint Museum-Reserve.

December, 14-16 – International scientific conference timed to 190-year anniversary of the Decemrists’ uprising “Historical memory” of Russia and the Decembrists”. The conference is organized by Saint-Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, State Museum of History of Saint-Petersburg, the Institute of History of Saint-Petersburg State University, the European University in Saint-Petersburg.
The reports at the conference will cover broad sphere of problems, connected with the fundamental problem of the historical memory of Russia, including the history of the Decembrists’ uprising. the special attention will be paid to the problems of source studies and historiography.
At the conference will be conducted following sections:
Power, society and “historical memory”.
“Historical memory” and “memory of the locality”.
Decembrists: historical perception and document.
Historiography of the Decembrists: traditions and novations.
Biographical studies in Russia of the end of the 18th and the first half of the 19th centuries. Traditions and modern approaches.
Museums, archives, private collections and their contribution to the preservation of “historical memory”.
October, 16 – round-table discussion “The Museum of book in the changing world: on the 90-year anniversary of establishment of the Museum of paleography of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR” will be held at the New building of the National Library of Russia (SPb., Moskovsky prospect, 165-2). The conference is dated for the exposition “The collection of books and manuscripts of academician N.P. Likhachev (1862–1936): on the 90-year anniversary of establishment of the Museum of paleography of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR” organized by the National Library of Russia, Saint-Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific library of Saint-Petersburg Institute of History (the department of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Saint-Petersburg branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
At the conference the following issues will be discussed:
The history of the Museum of paleography as research, educational and expert centre of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
N.P. Likhachev as a specialist in museum studies. His formation, practical activity and influence on the collection of the Museum of paleography.

September, 15-16 – International scientific conference “Alexander I. the tragedy of the reformer: people and the destiny of the reforms, reforms and the destiny of people”. The organizers are Saint-Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of History of Saint-Petersburg State University.

July, 1-4 – 19th All-Russian scientific conference “Penmen books and other mass sources of the 16th-21st centuries: timed to the centenary of Alexander Il’ich Kopanev”.
The conference is organized by Saint-Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of History of Saint-Petersburg State University, the Centre of history studies of Saint-Petersburg campus of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, the Archeography commission of the RAS, Saint-Petersburg branch of the Archeography commission of the RAS.
