The new issue of “Proceedings of SPbIH of the RAS”
The publishing house «Istoricheskaya Illustratsiya» released the next issue of “Proceedings of Saint Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences” “Peter the Great, Russian authorities and society in the era of change: Collection of articles timed to the 70th anniversary of Yuri Nikolaevich Bespyatyh” (“Petr Velikii, rossiiskaya vlast’ i obshchestvo v epokhu peremen: Sbornik statei k 70-letiyu so dnya rozhdeniya Yuriya Nikolaevicha Bespyatykh”). ISBN 978-5-4469-1479-1.
The issue 5 (21) of the “Proceedings” is timed to the 70th anniversary of Doctor of Historical Sciences Yuri Nikolaevich Bespyatyh. The collection includes the works of his colleagues and disciples on the issues of the era of Peter the Great. The first section includes articles revealing the role of the North in the political and economic life of the Russian state in the late XVII – early XVIII centuries. The studies that made up the second section focus on the biographies of Peter the Great and his contemporaries: statesmen, diplomats, and military officers. The third section discusses various aspects of the history of St. Petersburg in the first third of the 18th century.
The publication is designed for historians and all those interested in the history of modern Russia.
The Seminar on the Old Russian History
St. Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University announce a meeting of the Seminar on the Old Russian History which will be held on December 12, 2019, at 16.10 in St. Petersburg Institute of History of the RAS (Petrozavodskaya ul., 7, Conference Hall).
At the session N.V. Bashnin (SPbIH of the RAS, senior researcher, Cand.Sc. in History) delivers a report “Census books of the 17th – the beginning of the 18th cent. as historical sources (on the basis of Vologda Archbishop House)” (“Perepisnye knigi XVII – nachala XVIII v. kak istoricheskii istochnik (po materialam Vologodskogo arkhiereiskogo doma)”).
At the seminar the launching of the monograph by N.V. Bashnin “Perepisnye knigi votchin Vologodskogo arkhiereiskogo doma Sv. Sofii 1701–1702 gg.: Issledovanie i teksty» (“The census books of the estates of Vologda Archbishop House of St. Sofia of 1701-1702: research and texts”) will take place.

Laureate of the Yaroslav the Wise medal
Leading researcher, D.Sc. in History Boris Nikolaevich Kovalev was granted Yaroslav the Wise medal of the First Class (the highest distinction of Novgorod State University). The ceremony took place at the “Antonovo” concert hall.
Friends and colleagues cordially congratulate Boris Nikolaevich with the award.
