Emperor Alexander III expressed a wish to write a study on the history of the tsars’ hunt while visiting hunting ground in Gatchina. It was ordered to colonel N.I. Kutepov, who recruited scholars and collectors A.F. Bychkov, P.Ya. Dashkov, N.P. Likhachov, V.V. Stasov,… Numerous archive materials have been examined and included to this publication.

The publishing house «Istoricheskaya Illustratsiya» released the next issue of “Proceedings of Saint Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian Academy of Sciences” “Peter the Great, Russian authorities and society in the era of change: Collection of articles timed to the 70th anniversary of Yuri Nikolaevich Bespyatyh” (“Petr Velikii, rossiiskaya vlast’ i obshchestvo v epokhu peremen: Sbornik statei k 70-letiyu so dnya rozhdeniya Yuriya Nikolaevicha Bespyatykh”). The issue 5 (21) of the “Proceedings” is timed to the 70th anniversary of Doctor of Historical Sciences Yuri Nikolaevich Bespyatyh. The collection includes the works of his colleagues and disciples on the issues of the era of Peter the Great. The first section includes articles revealing the role of the North in the political and economic life of the Russian state in the late XVII – early XVIII centuries.
