Main journal policy
The journal is published since 2014. It was founded by Saint Petersburg Institute of History of the Russian academy of Sciences.
Publication Frequency. New issue publishes quarterly (four times in a year): March (№1), June (№2), September (№3), December (№4)
Journal’s research areas. The journal accepts articles, documents and papers in Russian and in English on Russian and General History and related subjects. All the materials are published free of charge and without royalties.
The mission of “Peterburgskii istoricheskii zhurnal” is to develop the history of Russia in global contexts, to introduce recent developments in the General history, to provide an opportunity for research in sphere of Auxiliary historical disciplines, to open a possibility for international dialog between scholars.
An independent peer review service of incoming materials operates since the journal’s establishment. In addition to the members of editorial board the journal resorts to the help of well-known experts in the field of humanitarian studies for this purpose.
“Peterburgskii istoricheskii zhurnal” is an open access journal, which means that all its content is freely available without any charges to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, distribute, copy, print, search, or link to the full texts of the papers, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. All the materials of the journal are available under Creative Commons “Attribution” 4.0 license (CC BY 4.0).
